Information about Amtrykes

Our chapter works on raising funds to provide and fit the Amtryke therapeutic tryke to children and others who are unable to ride a regular bike. Through our chapter we can provide highly discounted pricing on typically expensive adaptive, therapeutic tricycles. 

Everyone deserves to experience the fun and freedom of riding a bike. That’s why 

we build and donate therapist-recommended Amtrykes which can improve motor skills, strength, and self-esteem.

How We Do It

1. A therapist recommends an individual for an Amtryke

2. The individual will be evaluated and sized by their own therapist with 

guidance from an experienced Rock River Valley chapter member.

3. The family determines how much they can contribute towards the purchase 

of that tricycle. If assistance is needed, the individual is placed on our wish 

list. 

4. The chapter relies on our yearly fundraiser, quarterly membership dues and 

donations to provide funding to fulfill the needs of those on the Amtryke 

Wish List.

5. At a giveaway event, we fit the child with his or her very own Tryke and 

ensure they receive a proper, custom fit.
